Hindi Film producer; Akshay Kumar; has stated that he does not like to dub his films because of its effortless root language. Hollywood Hindi is developing so much so that these days you can hardly catch any Hollywood movie either in Pakistan or India without subtitles. The movie industry has two kinds of languages, dubbed and Subtitled. When it is Subtitled, the language of the film will be English, but when it is dubbed they will dub in Hindi. Some movies use various dialects for this reason like Hinglish (a hybrid of both), Bollywood (English Quotations with Hindi Words) and Punjabi (because most of the audience are from North Indian states).
Subtitling has become an acceptable practice in recent years among industry players. The research of Satish Anand, Graduate Student at the department of linguistics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has tried to get the field research of the intelligent use of the Hindi language in Hollywood movies. Satish found that some Hindi movies like "Holly Hobbie" (2005), "Laser Mission" (1996) and "Kabhi Kabhie" (2001) used English quotations with Hindi words while some other movies like "Shanghai Knights"(2010), "Funny Games"(2008), "Legal Eagles" (1997) and "The Terminal"(1994) used Hinglish. Generally using short quotes is more accepted in Hollywood than long quotes.
Hollywood Hindi has developed both in India and in America, but it is more developed in America, where people are more exposed to the language. Hindi movies are being made since 1907 when the first movie was made called "Raja Harischandra" directed by Dadasaheb Phalke.
According to Satish Anand, Hollywood Hindi is also developing with an influence of some other languages, e.g., Spanish and French via English. Spanish is very common in Hollywood movies because of the Mexico location of US-Mexico border while French is quite common due to its proximity to Quebec location on Canada-US border.
